News.blog: iPod film festival opens

A film festival that bills itself as the first designed exclusively for the iPod has got underway.

Entries to The Flux 2007 iPod Film Festival are available for download and viewing on iPods at theflux.tv, organisers said in a statement. The short films, which must be 10 minutes or less in length, can be accessed until 28 June.

The contest will be divided into three categories: student film, indie film and the kitchen sink.

Winners will be decided by a combination of viewers' ratings and festival jury. Among the judges is Steve Wozniak, one of Apple's co-founders.

Scores of contests for digital movies have cropped up in the last year as the popularity of Internet video has skyrocketed.
